Two places have it today: the Perpetuals tab in Binance Wallet and the xyz:NVDA market on Hyperliquid. In both, you are trading a contract that follows Nvidia's share price — no shares change hands, and you make or lose money on the price difference between opening and closing. If you want the wider picture of how company shares ended up on crypto exchanges at all, that is covered in trading Tesla, Apple and Nvidia on a crypto exchange; this page is only about where NVDA trades and what holding it costs.
The easiest route for most readers is the Perpetuals tab inside Binance Wallet. Search NVDA there and see what comes up: some companies have two pairs in this tab, one settled in USDT and one in USD1 (a dollar-pegged token), and the two can have different 24h volume and different leverage caps. Each pair carries its own maximum leverage badge next to the name, and the funding interval and minimum order sit on the pair screen. Execution and the order book come from Binance's partner protocol Aster, while the money stays in your own wallet balance, so you can open Binance Wallet and find the pair without a separate account anywhere else.
Hyperliquid has Nvidia as well, under the ticker xyz:NVDA. Hyperliquid runs the exchange itself, and a separate team, trade.xyz, created this particular market — they choose where the Nvidia price comes from and how much leverage you can use, which for NVDA goes up to 20x. Your money there sits in USDC, not USDT, and funding is paid every single hour. You connect a wallet instead of registering, which some people prefer; the full list of what trade.xyz runs is in the Hyperliquid live market table, and you can go to Hyperliquid to see the NVDA order book yourself. Binance Futures also has a long list of stock perpetuals; check in the app whether Nvidia is among them, and read the funding interval and leverage cap on the contract page.
Which venue is busiest changes week to week. Check the 24h volume of each NVDA market in the table — the busier one usually fills your order closer to the price you see on screen. Inside the wallet, if you find two pairs, compare them before you choose, because your balance has to be in that pair's currency.
| Where | Contract | Price | Leverage up to | 24h volume | Open interest |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Binance Wallet Perpetuals tab, Aster order book | NVDAUSD1 | $211.56 | 20x | $2.4M | $2.7M |
| Binance Wallet Perpetuals tab, Aster order book | NVDAUSDT | $211.53 | 20x | $220K | $1.0M |
| Hyperliquid (trade.xyz) HIP-3 market by trade.xyz | xyz:NVDA | $211.18 | 20x | $24.1M | $84.7M |
| Binance Futures for comparison | NVDAUSDT | $211.53 | — | $112.0M | — |
Prices differ a little between venues: each has its own order book and price source. Liquidation and profit are counted on each venue’s mark price.

What it costs to hold a NVDA position, in money
While your trade is open, traders on one side pay traders on the other side a small amount at set times. This is funding, and the exchange does not keep it — a positive rate means longs pay shorts, a negative rate means shorts pay longs. The full mechanics are in what funding is and when you pay it; here is how to turn it into a number for your own position.
Say you open a 500 USDT position at 5x. That means 100 USDT of your own money is set aside as margin. Read the current rate for your pair in the table below, multiply it by the 500 USDT position size, and multiply again by how many payments fall inside the time you plan to hold. The rate resets at every settlement, so always read today's number instead of a figure you saw last week: it can get much larger when the market leans heavily one way, and it can flip sign, in which case a long receives instead of paying.
| Where | Contract | Paid | Rate now | A long over 30 days, per 1,000 USDT | Over 90 days |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Binance Wallet | NVDAUSD1 | every 8 h | 0.0000% | pays 0.96 USDT | pays 0.96 USDT |
| Binance Wallet | NVDAUSDT | every 8 h | 0.0000% | pays 3.51 USDT | pays 9.45 USDT |
| Hyperliquid (trade.xyz) | xyz:NVDA | every hour | +0.0006% | pays 4.69 USDT | pays 14.15 USDT |
| Binance Futures | NVDAUSDT | every 8 h | 0.0000% | pays 6.43 USDT | pays 13.16 USDT |
Plus means longs pay shorts, minus means longs receive. The period total is what a 1,000 USDT long would have paid holding the whole time (price changes aside); a short receives the same amount with the opposite sign.

Hyperliquid settles funding every hour, while in the wallet the interval depends on the contract, so an hourly rate always looks tiny next to a longer one even when the cost over a week works out similar. Compare them over the same stretch of time, as shown in 1-hour versus 8-hour funding. On top of funding comes the trading fee. In the wallet's Perpetuals tab, stock and commodity contracts cost 0.0125% when your order fills immediately — about 0.13 USDT in and out on a 500 USDT position. The maker rate is shown in the fee section of the app. Hyperliquid has its own schedule, which you can check on its fees page.
Leverage, weekends and earnings days: how big a position is safe
The NVDA market on Hyperliquid allows up to 20x, and the wallet pairs show their own caps on the badge — available is not the same as sensible. Leverage doesn't make you richer by itself; it only lets the same 100 USDT carry a bigger position, and the loss grows exactly as fast as the profit. At 5x, a 500 USDT position moves 5 USDT for every 1% move in the contract. Raise it to 20x and the same 100 USDT carries a 2,000 USDT position: a 5% move against you is 100 USDT, your entire margin. In practice the exchange closes the trade a bit before your margin is fully gone — how much before depends on the contract, so look at the liquidation price the app shows you when you set the size, and treat that number as your limit. Which leverage to pick for a first trade goes through this with numbers.
Nvidia's shares themselves only trade on weekdays during the US session, 9:30 to 16:00 New York time, while the perpetual does not have to follow that schedule. In Binance Wallet these contracts run around the clock, weekends included, with fewer traders around at the weekend — which is why weekend and overnight trading deserves a smaller position than usual. On Hyperliquid, check the xyz:NVDA market screen for its trading hours before you plan a weekend trade, because on-chain stock markets do not all stay open. The same care applies to Nvidia's quarterly results: the figures land outside regular market hours, the price can jump straight past your level, and a stop-market order fills at whatever price is available after the jump, not at the price you typed.
Keep one trade's risk in one place. Use isolated margin for a stock perpetual so that a sharp move on earnings night can only take the margin you assigned to that position, not your whole wallet balance. A 500 USDT position at 5x with isolated margin puts 100 USDT at stake — decide in advance whether you are fine losing that, and set the stop loss when you open the order, not later.
Opening your first small NVDA position, step by step
Open the Perpetuals tab in Binance Wallet
You need a verified Binance account and a wallet that has been backed up — without a backup, perpetuals in the wallet stay locked. The walkthrough is in how to trade in Binance Wallet.
Search NVDA and see which pairs are listed
If the search returns two pairs, one settled in USDT and one in USD1, compare their 24h volume and their leverage badges, pick the busier one, then make sure your balance is in that pair's currency.
Check the pair screen before you size anything
The minimum order size and the funding interval are shown there for that specific pair. Read them first, because they are not the same across every contract in the tab.
Set leverage and position size
Choose something modest like 5x rather than the maximum, and type a size you can afford to lose: a 500 USDT position means 100 USDT of margin. You can start far smaller than that while you learn the screen.
Add a stop loss and a take profit before you confirm
Decide both levels while you are calm, in the order window where you choose the amount, and glance at the liquidation price the app shows for that size.
Note when the next funding payment lands
After the position is open, the pair screen shows the next funding time and the rate that will apply. Each payment may be small, but they are real money if you hold for weeks.
A word on availability. The Perpetuals tab reaches Binance accounts in much of the world, and Aster's terms exclude residents of, and people located in, Russia, Ukraine, the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, China, North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Venezuela and Syria. Hyperliquid has its own restrictions and shows a message if you open it from a blocked place — so check there too before you move any money. Either way, confirm in the app that NVDA is tradable from where you live before you fund anything.
Do I own Nvidia shares if I trade an NVDA perpetual?
No. You hold a contract whose price follows the share price, settled in USDT, USD1 or USDC depending on the venue. No shareholder rights, no voting, nothing delivered — the difference between this and a tokenized share is explained in tokenized stock vs futures.
What is the smallest NVDA perp trade I can open?
The minimum order size is shown on the pair screen in the app, and it differs from pair to pair, so read it there before you plan a very small first trade. Either way, size by what you can afford to lose rather than by the minimum, especially around earnings.
Is xyz:NVDA on Hyperliquid the same contract as in Binance Wallet?
It is the same trading idea with a different home. On Hyperliquid the market was created by the trade.xyz team, who set its price source and its 20x cap, while Hyperliquid handles the exchange side. Your money there is USDC, funding is paid every hour, and the order book and liquidity are separate from the wallet's.
How much does it cost to hold NVDA for a month?
Take the current funding rate for your pair from the table above, multiply it by your position size, and multiply again by the number of payments in a month. Add the trading fee — about 0.13 USDT in and out on a 500 USDT position in the wallet's Perpetuals tab. Rates change constantly and can flip sign, so recalculate rather than relying on an old figure.
Can I trade the NVDA perp at the weekend?
In Binance Wallet the perpetuals run around the clock, weekends included, even though the shares themselves do not trade. On Hyperliquid, check the xyz:NVDA screen for its hours first. Where weekend trading is available, expect fewer traders and wider swings, so a smaller position is the sensible default.
Is 20x leverage a good idea on a stock perpetual?
It is available, and that is not the same as suitable for a first trade. At 20x, 100 USDT of margin carries a 2,000 USDT position, and a 5% move against you equals your whole margin — the app will show you the liquidation price, which sits a little closer than that. Stock perps can also jump on news, so start low and raise only once you have seen how the contract behaves.
