Where to look for a Google perpetual
The easiest place to check first is the Perpetuals tab inside Binance Wallet, because you trade straight from your own wallet balance with no separate account anywhere else. The screen says "Provided by Aster" — that is Binance's execution partner for these contracts, which is where the order book and the liquidity come from. Stock pairs sit in the Stock group of the Perps list, each with its own maximum leverage badge, and the pair screen shows the funding interval. Our Binance Wallet markets table lists every pair that is live there right now.
The table below is filled from the venues themselves and refreshes every hour. Read it in two steps: first which venue carries the pair and under exactly which name, then its 24h volume. For a 500 USDT order, take the venue and the pair with the bigger volume number — that is where your order fills closest to the price you see on screen. Some companies have two pairs on the same venue, one settled in USDT and one in USD1, and their volume can differ a lot.
| Where | Contract | Price | Leverage up to | 24h volume | Open interest |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Binance Wallet Perpetuals tab, Aster order book | GOOGLUSDT | $321.05 | 20x | $175K | $1.1M |
| Hyperliquid (trade.xyz) HIP-3 market by trade.xyz | xyz:GOOGL | $320.51 | 20x | $12.3M | $99.1M |
| Binance Futures for comparison | GOOGLUSDT | $321.08 | — | $40.9M | — |
Prices differ a little between venues: each has its own order book and price source. Liquidation and profit are counted on each venue’s mark price.

On Hyperliquid, stock markets are not created by Hyperliquid itself: they are deployed on top of it by trade.xyz and carry an xyz: prefix, like xyz:TSLA or xyz:NVDA. The deployer chooses the price source and the limits, your margin there is USDC, and funding is paid every single hour instead of every few hours. Our live Hyperliquid table shows the current xyz markets, their maximum leverage and their daily volume. Binance Futures is the third route: US stock and ETF perpetuals with USDT margin, inside the same futures account you would use for bitcoin.
What you actually own when you open this contract
The number on the screen is that venue's own price for the stock, formed by its buyers and sellers and its price feed. You are holding a contract on the price, not a share: no voting, no dividend paid into your account. Binance's equity perpetuals apply a dividend adjustment; on other venues, read the contract specification to see how the dividend date is handled. That is also why the price can move at 3 a.m. on a Sunday when no stock exchange is open anywhere.
If this whole idea is new, two pages fill in the background quickly: stocks on a crypto exchange explains how these contracts are built, and a tokenized stock versus a futures contract explains why buying a token that represents a share is a different thing altogether.

What it costs to hold a 500 USDT position
Funding is a payment between the two sides of the contract, not a charge from the exchange. When the rate is positive, traders who are long pay traders who are short; when it is negative, the money flows the other way. You only pay or receive if you are holding the position at the exact moment of settlement, so a trade you open and close within the hour may never touch funding at all. The mechanics are covered in what funding is.
Here is the live rate for the pairs we track. Two columns matter: the current rate and the interval it is paid over, because an hourly rate and an 8-hour rate are not the same size of number. Convert both to a full day, then multiply by your position size — on a 500 USDT position, 0.03% a day is about 0.15 USDT a day.
| Where | Contract | Paid | Rate now | A long over 30 days, per 1,000 USDT | Over 90 days |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Binance Wallet | GOOGLUSDT | every 8 h | 0.0000% | pays 5.85 USDT | pays 15.67 USDT |
| Hyperliquid (trade.xyz) | xyz:GOOGL | every hour | +0.0006% | pays 7.27 USDT | pays 19.33 USDT |
| Binance Futures | GOOGLUSDT | every 8 h | 0.0000% | pays 5.63 USDT | pays 16.25 USDT |
Plus means longs pay shorts, minus means longs receive. The period total is what a 1,000 USDT long would have paid holding the whole time (price changes aside); a short receives the same amount with the opposite sign.

To see what that adds up to, take an illustrative case: the rate averages 0.01% every 8 hours and stays positive the whole time. That is three payments a day, so 0.03% a day on your position size — about 0.15 USDT a day on 500 USDT, or roughly 4.5 USDT over a month. On an hourly venue the same idea arrives 24 times a day in much smaller slices, which is why the two cannot be compared side by side without converting them first; comparing a 1-hour rate with an 8-hour one does that arithmetic for you.
Fees come on top, and they are charged on the position size each time — once when you open and once when you close. In the Binance Wallet tab a stock or commodity pair costs 0.0125% if your order fills straight away against someone else's order (that is called being a taker). On a 500 USDT position that is about 0.06 USDT to open and the same to close — roughly 13 cents for the whole trade. If you instead place an order that waits in the book for someone to come to you, the fee is different and shown on the order screen.
On Binance Futures the standard fee at the starting level is 0.05% if your order fills immediately and 0.02% if it waits in the book — on a 500 USDT position that is about 0.25 USDT to open. Funding there is usually every 8 hours, but check the pair screen, because some contracts settle more often. Hyperliquid has its own schedule, set out in Hyperliquid fees. Compared with any of these fees, funding is usually the part that decides whether a long held for weeks was worth it.
Funding also changes, and it can turn negative, which means a long would be receiving money rather than paying it. Treat any single reading as today's weather, not next month's climate: open the pair screen, read the current rate and the interval, and multiply by your position size yourself before you decide to hold through the weekend.
How big a position is safe, and what weekends and earnings do
The leverage badge in the list is a ceiling, not a recommendation. At 5x, a 500 USDT position needs 100 USDT of margin, and it takes roughly a 20% move against you to use that margin up — in practice the exchange closes you a little earlier, because maintenance margin and fees eat into the buffer. At 20x the same 500 USDT position sits on 25 USDT, and a 5% move is enough to end it. Which leverage to pick for a first trade walks through the choice with numbers.
Two things can move the price while you are not watching. US companies usually publish their results outside normal trading hours, and a perpetual keeps trading right through the announcement, so a position held overnight can meet a sharp move while you are asleep — check the company's own reporting date before you hold through it. At weekends, with no share trading anywhere, the contract still prices the stock; moves can be smaller or jumpier, and they cost or pay real money either way. Weekends and nights goes into what that looks like in practice.
Decide your exit before you open. Set a stop loss in the same screen where you set the size, and use isolated margin so the trade can only cost the margin you gave it. On a 500 USDT position at 5x, a stop placed 4% away risks about 20 USDT. Twenty USDT is a loss you can take, learn from and still have most of your money.
Opening your first small stock position step by step
Open the wallet and finish the backup
In the Binance app, switch to Binance Wallet and complete the backup — without it the Perpetuals tab stays locked. How to create the wallet and back it up walks through it.
Search for the pair
Go to the Perps list, search for GOOGL and open the Stock group. If the search comes up empty, pick another listed stock pair — the mechanics are identical.
Read the badge and the pair screen
Note the maximum leverage badge next to the pair, then open the pair screen to see the funding interval, the current rate and the fee line.
Pick a leverage you can defend
Move the slider to 3x or 5x rather than the maximum, and choose isolated margin so this trade cannot reach the rest of your balance.
Enter a small size
The smallest size the pair accepts is shown in the order window — check it there, then start with an amount far below what you eventually plan to trade, just to see the whole flow.
Add the stop loss and take profit
Fill both fields before you confirm the order. Then you do not have to watch the screen for the rest of the day.
One practical note before you plan anything: Aster's terms exclude residents of some countries, including Russia, Ukraine, the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, China, North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Venezuela and Syria, so check that the Perpetuals tab actually opens for your account first. If it does, the fastest way to understand the costs is to open Binance Wallet, search the Stock group and read the fee and funding lines on the order screen before you put any money in.
If you would rather hold a stock perpetual with USDC in your own wallet and pay funding every hour, the trade.xyz markets on Hyperliquid are the other route — a different account, a different margin asset, the same underlying idea. And if Google is simply your way into this group of contracts, the sister pages on Nvidia, Tesla and Microsoft are built the same way.
Why does the same stock sometimes have two pairs on one venue?
In Binance Wallet a stock can be listed settled in USDT and settled in USD1, and the two pairs have separate order books, separate volume and sometimes different maximum leverage. Compare the 24h volume of both in the table above and trade the busier one, because that is where your order fills closest to the price on screen.
Is a stock perpetual the same as owning the shares?
No. You hold a contract that follows the price, so your result is the price difference in USDT or USDC and nothing else — no shareholder rights and no dividend paid to you. Binance applies a dividend adjustment on its equity perpetuals; on other venues, read the contract specification to see how that date is handled.
Can I trade stock perpetuals at weekends?
Yes, stock perpetuals in the Binance Wallet tab and on Hyperliquid run around the clock, weekends included. Volume is usually lower when the US market is shut, so use limit orders and check the price you are actually getting.
How much money do I need to try it?
Less than most people expect, but the exact floor depends on the pair: the order window shows the smallest size it accepts, and your margin is that size divided by your leverage. Open the pair screen, read the minimum, and size your first trade just above it.
Which venue is cheapest for a stock perpetual?
It depends on the week, because funding moves. Compare three things on the pair screen of each venue: the fee for an order that fills immediately, the current funding rate converted to the same time period, and the 24h volume of that exact pair. The venue with the lowest fee is not automatically the cheapest to hold.
Does funding always cost me money?
No. The rate flips with the market: when it is negative, longs receive and shorts pay. That is why you check the current rate before holding a position through a settlement rather than assuming last month's direction.
