Where can you trade an SK Hynix perpetual, and what does it cost to hold?

You can trade SK Hynix as a perpetual contract in the Perpetuals tab inside Binance Wallet, and as the xyz:SKHX market on Hyperliquid. Neither one makes you a shareholder — you are trading the price. While the position is open you either pay or receive funding — a small payment every few hours on the wallet pairs, every hour on Hyperliquid — and you pay a small fee when you open and when you close. The live tables on this page show what each venue is charging right now.

Where the SK Hynix perpetual trades

The simplest route for most people is the Perpetuals tab inside Binance Wallet, where SK Hynix appears in the Stock group. Execution and liquidity in that tab come from Binance's partner, the Aster protocol — the screen says so — but you trade from your own wallet, with no extra account to open. Some companies in that list have more than one pair, one settled in USDT and one in USD1, so open the list and check which SK Hynix pairs are live and what volume each one has. You need the settlement coin of the pair you pick sitting in your wallet first.

Each pair carries its own leverage badge in the list, and pairs settled in USDT usually allow more than the ones settled in USD1. If you have a verified Binance account you can open Binance Wallet and look through the Stock group yourself, or check the per-pair numbers first in our live table of wallet markets.

On Hyperliquid, SK Hynix is listed as xyz:SKHX. The market is run by a team called trade.xyz, which sets the leverage cap and the price source, while Hyperliquid provides the trading engine. Your deposit there is USDC, and funding is paid every hour. There is no exchange sign-up: you connect a wallet and deposit USDC, and you can see the markets on Hyperliquid or browse our live Hyperliquid market table to see the current cap and rate before you decide.

If you already trade on Binance Futures, Korean stocks are part of its stock perpetual list too — search SK Hynix there and read the fee and funding lines on the contract page before you compare with the wallet pair.

To give you a feel for the scale: in late October 2026 the SK Hynix pair in the wallet tab was turning over about $62M a day, and xyz:SKHX on Hyperliquid about $331M. Those numbers change daily, and the table below shows today's. Look at the 24-hour figure for each pair and pick the bigger one — that is where a 500 USDT order fills closest to the price on your screen. Where a company has both a USDT and a USD1 pair, the volume can be very different, so compare them rather than taking the first one in the list.

An SK Hynix perpetual has no expiry date — but every hour you hold it, funding keeps ticking.

What it costs to hold the position

A perpetual contract never expires, so instead of an expiry date it uses a small payment between the two sides, called funding. When the rate is positive, the people holding longs pay the people holding shorts; when it is negative, it goes the other way. The exchange does not keep that money, and only whoever holds the position at the payment moment pays or receives it. If the idea is new to you, our page on how funding works walks through the screens you will actually see.

Each payment is small, but over a month they add up, so it is worth doing the arithmetic yourself before you leave a position open for weeks. Take an illustrative example: your position is 500 USDT, which at 5x leverage needs 100 USDT of margin out of your account. If the rate on the pair page shows 0.01% and the contract pays every 4 hours, that is 500 × 0.0001 = 0.05 USDT per payment, six payments a day, so about 0.30 USDT a day and roughly 9 USDT over a month. Swap in the real rate from the table below and your own position size, and you have your own bill.

Long−0.05 USDT
Short+0.05 USDT

One funding payment on a 500.00 USDT position. Traders pay each other, not the exchange. Each contract has its own rate and interval.

Plus means longs pay shorts, minus means longs receive. The period total is what a 1,000 USDT long would have paid holding the whole time (price changes aside); a short receives the same amount with the opposite sign.

Funding is not a fixed price list: it resets every interval and can turn negative, in which case a long receives instead of paying. The interval also differs by pair — in the wallet tab it is printed on the pair page, on Hyperliquid it is hourly. Fees are separate and much smaller: on stock and commodity pairs in the wallet tab the fee is 0.0125% when your order fills straight away, which is about 6 cents on a 500 USDT trade. Check the fee line in the order window for the pair you pick, and for the on-chain route see what you actually pay on Hyperliquid.

How big a position, and what about weekends

The 50x you may see on a badge is the most the exchange will let you use on that pair. It is not what you should pick. The useful way round is to start from the price level where your idea is clearly wrong, then size the trade so that reaching that level costs you an amount you can lose without it changing your week — say 5 USDT on a 100 USDT account — and only then set leverage so that your liquidation price sits comfortably beyond that level. The app recalculates the liquidation price as you move the slider, so watch it move instead of guessing — our page on what leverage a beginner should use goes through the same thinking in numbers.

SK Hynix is a Korean company, and the wallet pairs keep trading when its home market is closed — overnight, at weekends and through holidays. That is convenient, and it also means price can move while you are asleep and while the shares themselves are not trading anywhere. Around results announcements and big semiconductor news the move can arrive in one jump rather than smoothly, which is exactly when a small position saves you. If the price gaps 3% against you, that is about 3 USDT on a 100 USDT position and about 30 USDT on a 1,000 USDT one. Same news, same jump — the size you chose decides how much it hurts. The general picture is on our page about stock futures at night and on weekends.

Set the stop when you open, not after. A jump in price can skip past your stop level, so a stop limits your usual loss rather than guaranteeing an exact number. Keep the position small enough that even a bad fill is money you can live with — on a trade with 100 USDT of margin, decide the loss before you confirm the order, not while you watch the candle.

Opening a first small SK Hynix position step by step

  1. Find the pair

In the Binance Wallet app open the Perps list and use the Stock group or the search field for SK Hynix. Note every SK Hynix pair the list shows you, each with its own leverage badge.

  2. Pick by volume and settlement coin

If more than one pair comes up, compare their 24-hour volume and check which coin each one uses — USDT or USD1. You need that coin in your wallet before you can open anything.

  3. Read the pair page before you size the trade

The funding interval, the current rate and the smallest order the exchange accepts are printed there. That tells you both your holding cost and the smallest test you can run.

  4. Set leverage by looking at the liquidation price

Set leverage so that the price level where your idea is wrong is comfortably far from your liquidation price. On a small test trade that usually means a low number — watch the liquidation price change as you move the slider.

  5. Add a stop-loss and a take-profit in the same window

Decide both levels before you confirm, and write them down so you are not renegotiating with yourself an hour later.

Availability depends on where you live. The perpetuals in the wallet tab are not offered to people in a number of countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, China and Russia, and Hyperliquid blocks some jurisdictions too. Check in the app when you open the tab, before you move any money.

If you follow memory and chip names, our Micron page answers the same questions on a pair with similar volume, and the step-by-step guide to trading in Binance Wallet walks the same screens using gold.

Does an SK Hynix perpetual make me a shareholder?

No. You are trading a contract that follows the price, and you never receive shares, voting rights or anything else a shareholder gets. The number on the contract is that contract's own market price — don't use it to work out what the company is worth.

Can I trade the SK Hynix perp at weekends?

The pairs in the Binance Wallet Perpetuals tab trade around the clock, weekends included, even though the Korean market is closed. Weekend volume is usually lower, so look at the order window before placing a larger order. For Hyperliquid, check the market's hours in the app.

Which venue is cheaper to hold on?

It changes, because funding resets every interval on each venue independently. Compare the current rates in the live table above, remember that Hyperliquid pays hourly while a wallet pair uses the interval printed on its own page, and multiply by your own position size rather than trusting last month's figure.

Why do some companies in the wallet list have two pairs?

One pair is settled in USDT and the other in USD1, another dollar-pegged coin that lives in Binance Wallet. They can have different volume and different leverage caps, so open the Stock group and see which SK Hynix pairs are live right now, then pick the one with the larger 24-hour volume.

What is the smallest SK Hynix position I can open?

The smallest order size is set per pair and shown on the pair page in the app, so check it there before you plan the trade. Starting with the minimum is a sensible way to see the order window, the funding line and your stop-loss working for real before you commit more.
